By using equipment such as a Bosu or Stability ball you putting a totally different emphasis on the way you are training your muscles.  You are not only increasing muscle strength and endurance but you are working on balance and coordination, which is essential in everything we do.  You also engage your core muscles and abdominal muscles more than you would if you were on a stable surface.
